I feel extremely guilty about telling my daughter to stop smoking in front of her kids?

Earlier while we were having supper, I feel extremely guilty for telling my 14 year old daughter not to smoke in front of her 2 children and her father, who is on oxygen. She bursted into an absolute rage. I now feel extremely guilty for making her upset earlier. How can I apologize to her right now? Things are a little tense, and she sped off with some man just now. What can I do so her feelings wont be hurt and so she will forget what happened?
